Assembled by hand in his California Studio, John McConnico offers this limited edition mechanical wristwatch with old world quality and fresh contemporary styling. Well done my fellow Oaklander.
We have an admitted weakness for tool watches, especially if they’re referencing historical details yet are updated for a contemporary audience. John McConnico shares the same passion. Having been a watch collector and horology enthusiast for more than 20 years (and with a background in designing products and building brands) he’s spent the last year strategizing the design & production of limited edition timepieces. The Sunray Flieger is the first edition to be released.
The current limited edition watch is available in 2 overall styles (an Athracite Black dial or French Blue dial), as well as a special “Blackout Edition,” consisting of a PVD-coated black case with a screw-down crown. Additional upgrades are also available, such as Swiss ETA movement, Sapphire crystal, and leather strap options. John assembles each watch to a customer’s specifications, and in 4-6 weeks it is shipped along with a unique edition number, card of authenticity, and one-year warranty.
The primary goal of the project is to create a boutique quality mid-priced watch in an affordable package, with the customer relationship being paramount. As John puts it,
…the act of buying a timepiece is based on emotion and personal identity, in addition to practicality. A person should feel connected to a watch’s production, lineage, and DNA. It is this intimate relationship that will live along with each watch, and hopefully be carried on to its subsequent owners. We couldn’t agree more.
More information can be found on the Sunray Flieger website. John will also be offering a 10% discount for Megadeluxe readers. Enter the code MEGA10 upon reserving a watch: www.SunrayFlieger.com.
