From Fiskens: The Porsche 911 2.7 RS Carrera was launched at the 1972 Paris Motorshow. Designed so that the already dominant 911 could maintain its fiercely competitive reputation on the racetrack, at least 500 production cars had to be made in order to homologate the car for competition use in Group 4 racing. There were a number of significant improvements, from the iconic aerodynamic ‘duck tail’ rear spoiler to the legendary 2.7-litre engine.
