VINTAGE MATCHLESS MOTORCYCLE – circa 1960:
Matchless is one of the oldest marquees of British motorcycles and was started by Harry and Charlie Collier in 1899 in Plumstead, London. They had originally started out producing bicycles before going on to establish one of the most important British motorcycle firms. The Matchless tank emblem was a winged “M”. Matchless had a long history of racing success with Charlie winning the first single-cylinder race in the first Isle of Man TT in 1907.
