Jose Gallina :: Photographer

It’s always a pleasure to find someone who loves machines and then to find out it’s been a lifelong passion that’s been passed on down to them. Jose must have motor oil in his veins. His father is Hugo Gallina who owns Vintage Italian Restoration.

“I learned about photography in high school classes where I got to shoot and develop my own film. With my dad doing what he does I was always around motorcycles and I just started taking pictures of what was around me and what I loved.”

From Jose: My passion for cars and bikes started at a very young age. My dad was always into machines and always had a project going.(As a toddler I was riding around in a Volvo P1800 and a Citroen SM and going to car shows bi-weekly). I learned about photography in high school classes where I got to shoot and develop my own film. With my dad doing what he does I was always around motorcycles and I just started taking pictures of what was around me and what I loved. I bought my first DSLR in 2008 and just kept shooting and teaching myself anything I may need to know and started photographing car shows, and races and just wherever and whenever I saw something I liked.

Hugo Gallina

Jose on his father Hugo Gallina: He was born and raised in Argentina, of Italian descent. He was also a gear head his whole life. Growing up in Argentina he owned everything from a ’48 Mercury 4 door, Lancia beta 2000, Fiat 1600 Vignale, to CB750 Super Sport, CB400’s and a few other of those bikes from the mid to late 70’s all by his mid to late 20’s. Now he restores Italian bikes as his full time gig and really focuses on building and maintaining bikes for the Giro d’California ride.
