Ladies and gentleman, I give you the whimsically-wicked stylings of Jeff Mitchell. Jeff was kind enough to give some detail on each one of his works here. Click on the main images to get his take.

I thought it would be fun to try and incorporate this moment of ecstasy for the Lebowski character and reference the religion of bowling that permeates the film. I truly didn't expect the popularity of the movie to be as far-reaching as it is. I've shipped this print all over the world.

I really like working with recognizable subjects, so I have the freedom to distort proportions to push the image into the gray area where you recognize him, but you know something isn't quite right. When I was young, my brother went through a very intense Bruce Lee phase where he collected all the movies. I guess that was embedded somewhere in me like a bomb waiting to go off.

My dad used to take me along to these motorcycle races that had traveling antique bike shows with them. It was the first time I ever saw an Indian motorcycle. They were really great memories that were gratifying to express through art.

"Villain" is based on an earlier painting I did of Andre the Giant titled "Gigantic". This painting is a good example of playing with subtle shifts in proportion; a technique that I think is really interesting. I loved painting Andre the Giant. What a marvel of pop culture.

It was through Hunter Thompson's writing that I was first introduced to the illustrations of Ralph Steadman. I remember this defining moment, like the first time you heard Zeppelin, where I thought art was something I really wanted to pursue.
