Someone just showed me these special edition sneakers from J. Crew. I’m thinking they should be called “The Larry David.” Kind of like having a sandwich named after you – but better.
Update: Today this post, and in particular these New Balance Suede ProCourts got a mention on Grantland.com. The Larry Davids are now sold out. It’s a sad state of affairs in sneaker land.

Update: Unfortunately J. Crew no longer sells the New Balance Suede ProCourt Sneakers. But I think these New Balance Procourt Yacht Club’s might do.
From J. Crew.com: Our design team collaborated with New Balance (est. 1906) to create this completely exclusive rendition of the iconic basketball sneaker. The result? Old-school cool in supple suede with a rubber toe cap. Hoops, anyone? Cotton terry lining. Removable polyethylene footbed. Rubber sole for traction with herringbone tread pattern. A Collector’s Item.
