I was instantly mesmerized by Alexis Goure’s cinematic–like photos. I called him up, and interrupted his birthday meal. (What are the odds?) He somehow forgave me and sent these shots from Le Mans Classic 2012. I owe him.

“I believe that Motorsports photography is about more than just the cars, it is about the complete experience of the location, the weather, the spectators and the atmosphere.”

Alex: I am a 26-year-old photographer, based in Le Mans, France. I have always been attracted by cars, so in 2007, I bought my first camera in order to cover the 24 hours of Le Mans from the spectator’s area. This was the beginning of an ongoing passion which is now 5 years old, during which I have always tried to have my own style. In September 2012, I graduated from the IAE of Toulouse with a Master’s degree in Marketing. At present, I have decided to focus totally on my passion and dream to become a professional Motorsports photographer.

I believe that Motorsports photography is about more than just the cars, it is about the complete experience of the location, the weather, the spectators and the atmosphere. I always try to see things from a slightly different perspective to other photographers and capture these important aspects of the race too. When I cover a race, a track-day or an event, I want to share my feelings of the event through a set of 30 – 50 photos, attempting to bring a young and modern approach to this kind of photography.
