I prefer classic 1” luged steel frames. You have the best few on the frame if there are no brakes, shifters, gears etc. So I was always excited on the singlespeed/fixed gear idea. In addition to that riding a fixed gear bike is much more fun then riding a bike with gears. But this is another matter.
The idea of creating our two models was to develop further the minimalistic approach of the fixed gear idea: We cut the paint/finish. Our frames are rusted or blackfinished, covered with a special wax/oil. So they are real steel. The oil protects the frame from further corrosion (without dirtying Your clothes). The lugs are polished.
Our frames are produced by a framebuilder in near Amsterdam (Holland). The wheels are made by me, so we can agree to the customers wishes relating to the spoke picture and the colours of hubs, spokes and rims. But we won’t allow any discussions about the brooks-leather-saddle, the crank-set, the bars or the chains.
