This is an enlargement taken from one of my earlier pen and ink work’s (1994) and depicts future Formula One World Champion Jackie Stewart at the Nurburgring during the German Grand Prix of 1966. The section of the track he is driving is called Pflugplatz (Flying Place), but interestingly, the actual airport which generates the name is actually a little further up the track from where Stewart is “flying.” He is piloting a BRM Formula 1 car.
